Let me introduce you to our buying partner – a very talented fruiterer named John Antico, Managing Director of Antico International Pty. Ltd.
Over 50 years ago, brothers John, Tony and Joe started Antico Wholesale. This was the launch pad for Antico International, a new business that would supply fresh fruit and vegetables to the burgeoning airline and catering industries.
The Antico's early connections with the airline industry allowed the company to quickly tap into the emerging air export market at just the right time. As they say "the rest is history", as Antico’s established itself as one of Australia’s leading produce export companies.
John has had many highlights throughout his successful career, rightfully earning him the title of “Industry Legend”.
- In 1986 Antico International won an Export Award for Excellence from the Australian Federal Government.
- In 1989 John was awarded an AM (Order of Australia Medal) for his work in the Horticultural industry and for his contribution to numerous Government Working Groups around export.
- In 1999 John won the prestigious Export Hero Award from the Australian Institute of Export.
