You’ll find that just about every other supplier will bring cardboard boxes – week after week after week and the environmental implications of this are enormous. Every cardboard box manufactured and recycled produces approximately 10.5kg of CO2 and workplace fruit suppliers who provide just cardboard boxes are generating thousands of tonnes of carbon emissions every year on their packaging alone.

Global warming is already having a huge impact on the Australian produce industry. Being critically reliant on this industry, we are passionate about doing something positive in this area.

Fruit at Work is committed to becoming a carbon neutral business and is currently examining every part of its business to minimise damage to the environment.

Towards Using Local Fruit

Fruit at Work strives to use all fruit from local farms whenever possible. We support our local farmers, and use seasonal fruit fresh from the farm in order to support sustainable farming as well as local agriculture here in Australia.
